En chantier depuis semble-t-il trois ans et demi, Paradox a dévoilé hier le prochain quatrième volet de la bien connue série Age of Wonders. Après un détour en 2019 dans le domaine de la SF avec Planetfall, le jeu revient au contexte classique de son univers médiéval-fantastique.
Au menu, toujours une alchimie entre 4X et batailles épiques en tour par tour, le tout allant être a priori fortement saupoudré de jeu de rôle (entre autres via un nouveau système d’évènements). De plus ceux ayant suivi l’histoire du jeu au fil des précédents épisodes seront heureux de voir le scénario prendre un nouveau tournant. En effet les rois-sorciers qui avaient été bannis sont parvenus à s’évader de leur prison dans un autre monde, et ambitionnent d’une part de réclamer leurs trônes, et d’autre part de s’établir en tant que nouveaux dieux. Comme quoi être isolé pendant des lustres avec des démons n’aide pas les esprits à bien tourner rond.
Quoi qu’il en soit, voilà qui promet de belles réjouissances ludiques et, bonne nouvelle, il ne faudra pas attendre longtemps avant de pouvoir profiter du jeu, la sortie étant prévue pour le 2 mai de cette année.
