UK – 1 st March 2017 – Award-winning veteran games developer and international games label Team17 has today revealed two new GDC trailers for the forthcoming Aven Colony and The Escapists 2.

Together with Texas-based independent developer Mothership Entertainment, Team17 has unveiled a new gameplay trailer showcasing the beautiful and engrossing sci-fi city-building and management sim Aven Colony.

Set on Aven Prime, an alien world of deserts, tundras and wetlands light-years from Earth,  Aven Colony is a rich simulation of an extra-terrestrial colony. Build, customise and maintain your settlement, manage your resources, encounter a variety of alien life forms and look after your citizens – all while dealing with the challenges of life in an entirely new solar system. Will your plucky settlers survive and prosper on this exotic alien world, and uncover its many secrets?

Revealed today for the first time is  Aven Colony’s Expedition System which allows you, in your capacity as a colony Governor of Aven Prime, to send out expedition vessels to explore the often hostile surface of mankind’s new home. Your expedition vessels will rescue lost explorers, repair crashed vessels, confront splinter groups and rebels, destroy deadly creep spore and plague spore nests, explore ruins, recover artifacts, and fight robot guardians left behind by mysterious ancient civilization that once inhabited Aven Prime.

Aven Colony launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in Q2 2017.

Team17, in conjunction with developer Mouldy Toof, has also released a new GDC trailer for sandbox prison-escape game, The Escapists 2.

Entitled ‘Welcome to Center Perks’ the new trailer showcases the brand new version of a prison which will be very familiar to players of The Escapists and shows off some of the game’s multitude of enhancements, including the brand new graphical style, new combat system, new things to do, new items to craft, more character customisation and the new prison alert system. All while retaining the trademark humour The Escapists players know and love.

The Escapists 2 is the forthcoming sequel to the multi-million selling, award-winning sandbox prison-escape game which will include, in a first for the series, drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play.

Escaping won’t be easy though. You’ll have to work around the strict prison schedule and avoid the unwanted attention of guards. Craft weapons and tools found (or stolen) from within the prison, but beware of cell shakedowns. Get a job or perform “favours » for your fellow inmates to purchase vital supplies, all while scouting escape routes.

The Escapists 2 will be coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2017.

Meanwhile, in other The Escapists news, the original game is launching on tomorrow, 2 nd March, for iPhone, iPad and Android devices so gamers will be able to enjoy the thrills of escaping the original game’s prisons on the go!

Those attending GDC will be able to get hands-on with both Aven Colony, The Escapists 2 and also Yooka-Laylee at the Team17 booth, located in the South Hall, space  #2130. Team17 are also taking appointments for the world exclusive showcase of newly announced Genesis Alpha One. To make an appointment please contact the relevant contact for your area below.
