Cataclysm – OUT NOW!
Hello all,
Happy end of the world!
The four horseman rose with the Harbinger to rain chaos and destruction and they have turned the land to ash and cinder – now, nobody knows who resides in Talisman’s iconic locations.
It has been a generation since the earth cracked open and the sky fell. The seas rose up to swallow the land, and the land crumbled down to cover the seas. It was the end of the world, yet the world did not end.

35 years of Talisman
Today also commemorates 35 years of Talisman. On this day in 1983 the UK’s answer to DnD was released to the world. In those years since we’ve seen many evolutions of Talisman and to celebrate this we’ll be discussing what it’s like to work on Talisman physically and digitally with guest speaker, John Goodenough. You’ll be able to find that here[www.twitch.tv] at 4pm GMT.
Fixes
As is standard, tracking specific bugs between the live build and different builds that we’ve been working on is normally tough so we are unable to produce a list of bug fixes. This is especially so as we have maintained different builds for the Woodland public build, the Catacylsm, our engine build and the build that we’re using to work on what comes next. If you want to know if anything specific has been fixed then please ask.
Dev Note
Some users may see a continuation of issues that presented themselves when we released the new engine. These problems have been difficult to squash as they are proving to be very specific. Unfortunately, it’s not a case of us having just broke Macs – for all the users that report failures to launch, struggles to run the game and various other issues, we have updated and fixed some of these problems for some of these users. In development, it’s a far easier problem to fix nothing or fix everything with updates as that provides a clear next step. Fixing the same problem for some users, however, is far more of a headache as it seemingly makes no sense for some users to have the problem fixed and some users not to. Rest assured, we plan to continue to dedicate ourselves to ensuring that all users possible can make the leap to our own engine and we will continue to keep contact with those users having problems.
Another standard for a new update, please complete any games that you want to complete on the old build before updating as old saves on the new build may be rendered unplayable.
Along with this, if you lose your Runestones and XP, please go to the leaderboard and hit refresh.
Special thanks…
As always, we are grateful for all the hours that people choose to give to helping us improve the quality of Talisman: Digital Edition. For this expansion we gave more people access at an earlier stage and some folk really went above and beyond in helping us ensure the highest standards possible.
Thanks especially to sjgf, Neil, Nemomon, Neogambit and talismanisland for your continued hard work and support.
