Suite des annonces faites par Matrix Games lors de l’événement Home of Wargamers 2023 (voir ce récapitulatif) qui a débuté avant-hier. La série Flashpoint Campaigns va bénéficier d’une extension pour le volet Southern Storm. Cet add-on se focalisera sur les forces de la Belgique et de l’Allemagne de l’ouest, précisément durant l’été 1989, allant proposer deux nouvelles campagnes, et dix-huit scénarios individuels. Le thème général étant la défense de Bonn.
Par ailleurs, Matrix a aussi mis en ligne hier la première vidéo d’une série de didacticiels allant expliquer les mécanismes du jeu. Bonne idée vu que celui-ci gagne en profondeur et donc en complexité.

Flashpoint Campaigns Tutorial Series – Episode 1 Scouts and Reconaissance
Flashpoint Campaigns is getting a tutorial video series. We are starting off with scouts and recon units and how to use them effectivley and keep them alive. We plan to cover numerous other weapon systems and troops types, with actual military veterans advising us on how to use them against the enemy.

Flashpoint Campaigns: Central Storm Coming Soon
We are pleased to announce the first DLC expansion for Flashpoint Campaigns Southern Storm. Central Storm covers the front lines of the Belgian I Corps and West German III Corps. It was these two corps that covered the West German capital of Bonn from Soviet attack. With flatter terrain than we saw previously in Southern Storm, Central Storm promises front loaded battles and aggressive tactical manuevering. With Bonn only just behind the lines it’s do or die for NATO forces.

• A new playable army, Belgium
• 19 new maps set in central Germany
• 18 new standalone scenarios
• Two new campaigns with a total of 11 campaign scenarios featuring the Belgian I Corps, West German 7th Panzer Division, and Soviet 57th Guards Motor Rifle DivisionAs part of a wider update, both the DLC and core game will be supporting two new free features.
• A brand-new ability to load leg infantry into helicopters (or trucks) to perform tactical transport on the battlefield. Fly your special forces deep into the enemy rear!
• A completely rewritten unit logging system that will provide deeper and more accessible unit information during the course of play.Expect Central Storm and the free update later this year.
