La cinquième extension majeure pour Europa Universalis IV, intitulée Common Sense, est disponible depuis deux jours. Au programme essentiellement plus d’interactions au niveau diplomatique et en politique intérieure pour développer sa nation (i.e. : nouveaux mécanismes pour certaines religions, dévotion pour les théocraties, interactions spéciales avec ses sujets, parlements, amélioration des provinces).
La sortie de ce DLC est accompagnée comme d’habitude par une nouvelle mise à jour du jeu, ainsi cette fois que par un Content pack optionnel, regroupant les modèles d’unités des pack Great Nations Unit, Free Cities Unit, Theocracies Unit et Buddhists Unit. Concernant le contenu du patch 1.12, voyez le long changelog par ici dans le forum officiel. A noter aussi un Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense E-Book qui consiste donc en une version électronique du livre Le sens commun de Thomas Paine (dont le titre a inspiré celui de cette extension). Puis un petit DLC Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense – Sounds from the Community: Kairis Soundtrack ajoutant quelques musiques d’ambiance.

Central to Common Sense is the idea of Development – your provinces are now more than an all powerful tax number. You can improve your regions based on tax, trade and military power specifically, giving each a focus or strength. Or, you can develop broadly to prevent crushing losses when a center of manpower falls to the enemy.
We’re also introducing Parliaments, allowing constitutional systems of government new ways to put the power of the people’s representatives to work on behalf of the nation – for a price.
There is a host of other changes to the game, including improvements to the Protestant religion, the creation of national churches, karma for Buddhist rulers and much, much more. And even if you don’t buy the expansion, the free update we provide with every new expansion will transform your play experience in interesting ways. This time, we have modified the role of forts in battle and shaken up the map and diplomatic situation in the 1444 start date.
